PYP 3 News
PYP students had a chance
to use a number of different ways to apply techniques and creativity when
making a collage. First of all, they were encouraged to tear coloured paper,
magazine illustrations and tracing paper. Then they were asked to cut out a
rectangle after selecting the colour of their choice. All of the pieces were
then assembled onto a white piece of A4 paper so that students could arrange
them and paste them down using a glue stick. At this stage, emphasis was placed
on observing larger pieces of paper and smaller ones. Some students created
patterns while others opted to make some sort of figure or landscape.

Throughout the term, we will be focusing on the learner’s profile
attitudes. During this Unit of Inquiry we are talking about different ways of being
caring and risk-takers. Listed below are some of the ways PYP 3 children
believe they have to act to show caring attitudes towards their friends.
“We help our friends”
“We share toys”
“We don’t hurt others’ feelings”
“We are loving”
