People express ideas and feeling through different forms of art


During this Unit, PYP3 children learned rhythmic gymnastics using balls, ribbons and hoops.


During the process children saw some pictures and videos from different countries, tried different movements, had the chance to talk to friends about movements and then decided their groups, the sequence of movements and the music to prepare a presentation.

Celebrating Earth Day!!!!

On the 25th (Jardim Europa) and 26th (Pinheiros) of April St. Francis celebrated

 Everybody wore blue or green to school that day, honouring the Earth's colours.





There were discussions about how we can help the Earth stay healthy, remembering what we had learned and agreed in our previous Unit . 

(Below PYP 3 Sigma and Omega showing what they had agreed during Unit 4:  to reuse the plastic cups for one whole day by writing their names on them, to prevent polluting the planet with plastic cups. Next day we start all over with a new cup)




During Period 6 (13:10 - 14:05) the whole school turned off the lights, computers, air conditioners and electronic devices to reduce the amount of energy used.

Masp Field Trip

Unit 5 - How we express ourselves

Central Idea:
People express how they view the world, 
their ideas and feelings through different forms of art.

Lines of Inquiry:
Different forms of art and interpretation.
Ways in which ideas and feelings are interpreted and represented.
Different artists and how they express themselves.

A short but thrilling week in PYP 3

We  had a short week but there were so many things happening...

First, we went to MASP! Children were really excited about seeing the paintings and sculptures we had been talking about. It was amazing to see those pieces of art just a few inches away from us!

When we arrived at MASP we could hardly wait to start our visit...

Finally, we started our quest for knowledge...















It was amazing!!!

But our week was not over and we still had an Egg Hunt 
to complete it. Our little hunters did their best to find 
all the eggs left by Easter Bunny...



PYP 3 had a great time and found many eggs, working as a team and sharing their findings.










Great job!!!


PYP 3 deserved a week off 
to get more energy for the new inquiries ahead.
